Not sure this is going to work. But I think it could be very interesting so I thought, hell, why not give it a go? Why not try and come up with an exciting idea, from scratch that is live from day 1? This being day 1, your right here with me and do you know what? You can be a part of this too. You see I think it would be a jolly good idea to come up with a new thing. A bright, new shiny thing. A good thing. An interesting thing. But the thing is, I don’t know what it is yet because I’m starting from scratch.
It’s a blank piece of paper or a stroll through a forest on a crispy cold Sunday afternoon. It’s the basic assumption that, with all this cool stuff going on it must be possible to come up with something too.
But we don’t know what it is yet and I think that’s really rather exciting. It could be anything, anything we wanted it to be. That’s cool. I like that. I’d like us to come up with an amazing idea, that’s cool, that works, that is interesting and fun. I’d like it to be helpful but I’m not quite sure how right now.
I like the idea to generate something for something – like a cause or a charity but because I’m not sure what the idea is, I’m not sure what cause or charity that could be (I’d welcome some input on this).
You see, if I look at my contacts I see a lot of clever people who come from all over the world and do a lot of different things – and that’s just the people I know. My idea is that surely we could come up with the next big thing. Who knows, it could even be little, but still exciting and good.
So this is it. It starts here. If you’re interested in getting involved leave a comment.

I love the idea. Firstly, I posted a new concept for Water Cooler Marketing here: http://jburg.typepad.com/future/2007/10/i-wish-id-thoug.html . I don’t own the idea, and it requires quite a bit of effort at building out the network, I don’t know if it is the right fit for this project.
However, I have been playing with an idea that might be a better fit. A web site that provides a number of free resourced for non-profits. Basically, it would be a collection of everything free, reviews, guides to building the site etc. It’s a free resource that any non-profit or charity could easily leverage to generate a web presence.
This would be a page that combined free google personal searches with free YouTube channels, WordPress, free widgets, the works. Just a thought.
Anyone out there what to help make this happen?

Hi, I’d be interested in getting involved in whatever form it would take. I’m not a big fan of the water cooler idea though…
I’m hoping this will be more of a round table thing than a shared Google doc!?

I recently went to meet a guy who runs a charity in madagascar, and was so moved that I swore to myself I would somehow try to help them out.
They do a number of things, from conserving species, to helping with AIDS and poverty issues. Madagascar is dead important because:
1. bio-diversity
2. it’s crazy poor as shit, and exploited too
3. it was french, so noone in england/the US ever puts it in the news
I met the guys who run it, and they really really need some help in the field of marketing generally. They have a hundred interesting things going on, each of which could exciting brief. If you guys are serious let me know. Ant

How comes nobody is posting any ideas here?? Is nobody creative enough?
- No! There are tons of great ideas in peoples heads. But nobody is willing to share their idea. Ideas are very valuable and they are even more valuable when you are the first or only one having it or at least realizing it. But sadly most ideas never get realized by us nor by anyone else. Nobody else realizes them because we don’t tell them. So we forget our ideas afte a while and they are lost.
My idea is to change that. I am thinking of something like an idea vault. You put your idea in and set a timer. If the timer ran out the ida will be automatically published and be aved for the public. So if you had all the time you thought you would needed to realize your plan the idea gets a chance with other people. This doesn’t only save the idea but also motivate you to hurry.
Of course this would be a nice web2.0ish website.
Feedback please!

The idea vault idea seems like a lighter version of patent and intellectual property rights with the twist of the timer. It is a good idea nevertheless. I am open to it. Welcome to email me with more about it if possible.
